Like Becca - I absolutely love wood toys. I have a huge issue with all of the plastic crap out there & hope that when I have kids that we will not have any plastic toys in our house. That is the goal anyway.
So, truth be told, I have already made my first wood toy purchase - despite not having kids. It is a little pathetic, I know. I just couldn't resist the Balancing Cactus from Plan Toys. It is just too cute & reminds me of Tucson. It sits in our guest room & I have to say, our guests love playing with it. At first, they think it is strange, but every single person has created their own cactus design. Who needs all of the lights, noises, and such? Sometimes it is the simple toys that stimulate our imaginations more - for kids of all ages!

This is WONDERFUL! Love the cactus!! I agree - all wood toys would be amazing. I also love wood trains and I really want a dollhouse. I have no shame in wanting these things pre-kids. :)
I just fell in love with this toy! It's on my little guy's wish list for his upcoming birthday ;) i love that I have just a few more years of being able to create his wish list for him - p.s. the all wooden toys is so, so hard to accomplish especially for bigger kid toys....most toys are gifts and it's hard to have all like-minded wooden toy fans as gift givers.
My fears realized. Not sure how to keep toys to "wood only," but guess I will cross that bridge once I actually have a kid.
I know...what do you do? A bunch of my girlfriend here swap toys on a regular basis. Based on the fact that you do get all this "stuff" when you have a kid, they love to be able to give and share. It doesn't take the plastic totally away, but it makes them feel better...I get it.
Toy swapping is such a good idea. I am a big sentimental sap about some though! I've started taking photos of them instead of keeping them around to clutter up the house. But I've really only managed to "get rid" of a few, some of which are promised back after they've had some love from someone else.
I am a google reader-ite so I hardly noticed the fun dialogue you all have in your comments. Hope I'm not intruding :) Such fun you all have on here - I heart so many things that I've never commented about!
LB - keep the comments coming - love the input!
Lauren - i love your posts and comments! Miss you....
