Dropped

The latest issue of Lonny Magazine is out & it is filled with all kinds of hotness. Yep, inspiration galore. I have been drooling over this issue all day. My favorite parts? See below.

Confetti table cloth, polka dot napkins, gold flatware. So much goodness in one place.

This pendant? Perfection.

One day I want a sofa in a nook. With scones on the side. Amazing.

This wallpaper is simply gorgeous. I love it so very much.

This needs to be dangling off my wrist. As in immediately.

And finally, this lamp couldn't possibly be any cuter. Want. Badly.

Your favorite parts?

Loving the new cover of the 7x7 magazine for Dec/January.  The illustration is by Lab Partners  (wish my iPhone photo was clearer but could not find another photo of the cover online...)

Danish Design

Guess what treat I recently received in the mail? This lucky girl got a bunch of Danish design magazines from a friend (thanks Shannon!) who was on a work trip in Copenhagen. Love that she grabbed these for me. I can't read a lick of the text, but who cares when the pictures are so darn pretty. I cannot wait to drool over these. Hotness. For sure.

I die.

Like seriously. Maybe one of my most favorite rooms ever.

What does a $25 gift card get you?

I have a huge weakness for the University of AZ Bookstore.  I like to browse on my lunch break.  As an end of the year treat - I got a $25 gift card from the Advising Office.  Woo Hoo!  Yes, I could have purchased an actual book at the bookstore....but here is what I walked away with.

(1) Sharpie pens.  My favorite.  (2) Papyrus thank-you card (3) Real Simple - I could not resist the title "Organize your life" (4) Two pink moleskin notepads ($12 for 2 but totally worth it).  So thin and simple!  Any lunch break purchases for you lately?

It's lonely in the modern world....

Love this blog that Julie just sent me with pictures and funny commentary about photos from Dwell magazine...http://unhappyhipsters.tumblr.com/...tee hee.

Design Inspiration

While on a recent hunt for old IRS files (yes, I recently had some crap go down - so frustrating), I came across some of my old "design binders." Back in the day - loooong before our blog (like college) - I used to rip out my favorite design ideas from magazines and organize them in binders. Upon rediscovering these binders I realized that some of the things I loved back then remain classics and I love them still. With so many design magazines going under (sigh), it is nice to have blogs to reference & peruse for ideas. I bookmark blogs, follow rss feeds, and have many committed to memory that I just type in the url myself. How do you all find & keep design inspiration?

It's Here...

Lonny Magazine - Edition #2. I haven't even started reading it - wanted to remind you girls it is up first. Let's discuss. Do we like this magazine as a replacement for Domino and/or every other out of print design magazine (tear)? Can't wait to peruse & can't wait to hear your thoughts too!

Reuse, Recycle, Reupholster

I just came across this article from Natural Home magazine that I found really interesting. Did you know that in the United States, discarded furniture ranks as the fourth-largest contributor to landfills! According to this article, unlike the bargain-basement variety, older furniture was constructed with hardwood frames and solid wooden joinery - rather than wood chips, screws, and metal brackets - so that it would last for generations. Having furniture reupholstered may cost more than a replacement up front, but you’ll wind up with a higher-quality piece that will look and feel good for years. So way to go girls - we are so green! Our own reupholstered projects here & here.

Read Me...

While I am not sure anything can adequately fill the void in my soul left by the closing of Domino magazine, maybe this will suffice. Michelle Adams, former Domino market editor and founder of eco fabric and bedding shop Rubie Green is launching Lonny magazine, an online-only decorating and lifestyle publication. The magazine, due to launch in October, will follow a traditional magazine format on an online platform, directly connecting readers to products and resources with the click of a mouse. Fingers crossed this will rock!

Boo...

This is what arrived in the mail last week as a replacement for my Domino subscription. I am so very very disappointed. Like Cathy posted months ago, receiving this made me miss my Domino even more!
