Coming Soon...

I know I have been saying it forever now (it seems), but I promise, shed before and afters are coming soon. I finally have some before photos. MCB & his Dad are "doers" and just went in and started demo before I could really get the images I wanted for my "before" shots. So, I have some that the boys took, just not the ones I really wanted. What I wanted to show you was just how bad the shed was as it is so wonderful now. A little bit of touch up paint still needs to happen, a little styling and then I can get some great "after" shots.

Until then, I leave you with this - a demo photo. In it you can see the gross carpet/linoleum being removed. Also, you can see the blood red wall that was the bane of my existence - so many coats to cover - why were the renters allowed to use that horrid color? Also notice the door trim - horrible teal. All of the window/door trim throughout the shed was painted teal and purple (to, you know, coordinate with the red?). It took two coats of primer and four coats of paint to cover up that trim - and touch-ups are still happening. Ugh.

Thanks for your patience while I get these images pulled together.
I cannot wait to share MCB's shed with you guys! Soon - promise.

For today...

Freshmen Orientations started yesterday.   They are fun but draining.  I have two sessions week from now until July.  Whew.  So  - here is the mantra for the busy times.

Happy Friday friends.

I hope so...

I do. I hope it is ok - ok that I haven't been posting a lot lately. It is not that I don't think about posting, it is just that I have been feeling under the weather and overwhelmed [with work]. So, hopefully this weekend will be full of lots of relaxation and regrouping. I won't be gone long, promise, just for maybe another day or so. Sorry for the lack of posts and hope it is ok that I have been gone.

Today...

My desk looks like this. I love, love, love having fresh flowers...particularly daffodils. So spring like. Makes me happy today. Hope things are lovely in your worlds.

PS. Sorry for the crappy phone photo - it was all I had today.

Once an RA...

...always an RA (as in Resident Advisor).
I decorated my door at work complete with a take-home art project for students.
I am a geek (or I was bored at work).

If I had a choice...

If I lived in this hotness, hopefully I wouldn't have to work (trust fund please materialize) - but if I did have to work, I would want it to be here, in this room, with a dog at my feet. Boom.

Smothed and Covered....

I am both smothered and covered with work this week. So many post ideas floating in my head and no time to execute. Soon I hope! Things to look forward too - cute new (and new to me) shops have arrived in Tucson - pics/websites to view. Halloween and Day of the Dead costumes are in progress - I promise pics.

This burrito is both smothered and covered - sauce and cheese. Yum.

Four Eyes

So, I am in desperate need of new glasses. Seriously. I am wearing ancient frames - hand-me-downs that I broke recently. They now sit totally wonky on my face. On most days, I wear contacts, so finding replacement frames has been really low on the priority scale.

Lately I have been seeing a lot of cool frames around the blog-o-sphere. Maybe it is because it is back to school time and everyone is feeling very collegiate? Whatever the reason, I have been seeing some great frames out there that are super cool & super inexpensive - two of my most favorite things. One problem with all of this is that I can't just pop into an online store to try on a pair of frames...or can I?

I just came across this cool site by Warby Parker. This site has an amazing feature where you can upload a photo and virtually "try on" any of their frames. Below is my current pick. Think I should "try on" anything else?

My frames of choice at the moment - Huxley in the Crystal Tortoise.
I am sort of digging their hipster vibe.

Me. In the frames. Looking surly. It felt weird to smile for a web cam.

Right Now...

I want to be here. Sigh.
Instead it is raining cats & dogs. And, tonight is
our big annual fundraiser at Pinhead. Off to raise beaucoup bucks in the name of all things science. I promise to be back on track with posts next week.

If you need me...

Today, here is where you will find me. Home. In bed. Sick. It is like there is a vice squeezing my brains out. Luckily, I have some of my favorite things to help - a new book, TV remote for movies/trashy daytime television, Sprite (love these new cans!), and my favorite "head clearer" soup.
Here's to hoping for a quick turn around!

Beaten To The Punch...

I literally pulled out some sheets of cork I had from a previous project just last night as I had an idea to make a pen cup covered in cork to post notes on at work. And look, on Design*Sponge this very morning is a post about this very project. I cannot believe they beat me to the punch here. Guess that is what I get for being too slow. Sigh.

Click, Click, Boom!

Swamped. That is how I am currently feeling. Sorry to be so absent lately, but life has been hectic. Leaving the house at the crack of dawn and returning home way past my bedtime is starting to grate on me. Surviving on coffee, coffee, & more coffee. Not to complain, but rather to explain my absence. I am looking forward to this weekend, Justin is in Alaska, and the house is m-i-n-e. Hope to post lots & lots soon.

Work It!

I am so excited! As you know, I love Amy Butler - maybe you remember from this post entitled "I love Amy Bulter!" Anyway, I just came across some important information about Amy Bulter releasing a new line of office products. Woo Hoo! I’ve died and gone to heaven with these…here are a few glimpses to make you reconsider your office space and how much better it would look with a little dash of Amy where you work!
