I am off to the cabin for the week! I cannot wait. Counting down the minutes. The cabin is always filled with lots of Arts and Crafts. Last year we made embroidery hats (this one was made by my friend Sarah and says - Jemezmorized - to describe the state we are in while in the Jemez Mountains).
After about 15 minutes of drying time, the "project" now hangs in our upstairs bathroom below an old medicine cabinet I bought in Alamosa, CO and repainted green. TP in old tin baking dish from a second hand store in Montrose, CO. Sorry not a better image, it is a teeny tiny bathroom. Hopefully these coffee rings help us wake up a bit more during the morning routine.
As Cathy already knows - one of my nicknames is Bunny. Maybe I should wear this funny (but sort of appealing) bunny suit. :) Found here: http://www.peterjensen.co.uk/index2.html

Yes please. How great would it be to cruise around town in one of these? I have been dreaming of a basket - dreaming too small apparently. I would never need to drive again with this puppy. Love it! More information here.
Do you guys decorate with portraits? I see posts on various blogs highlighting homes in which they decorate with portraits found in thrift stores and such. Though I find the idea intriguing, I also find it a bit creepy to have portraits of people you don't know hanging in your house. Thoughts?
So, here is one image of the wedding we attended last weekend. Though not my favorite image from the weekend, I love this one because it shows Justin officiating. The weather has been ridiculously rainy for the past month, but weather broke for 15 minutes the day of the wedding...just in time & just long enough for Josh & Monique to get married outside at Grey Head in Telluride. It was a great wedding & a wild party. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Johnson!
This is where we are staying - LOVE IT. The inside is so adorable - check out the images online. Have you guys ever used VRBO? I think it may be my new favorite vacation website.
Cute downtown.
Our new shop location?
I loved these plates at Milky Way - too cute.
Kirsten shows us how her custom made ice cream sandwich (macadamia nut cookie with mint chocolate chip ice cream) from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is - in fact- nearly as big as her head. Note - she did not finish it.
I love these lights - but the $200+ price not so much.
We did more than just work & shop. We also headed up to Lake Irwin right outside of town for a short walk. Wish you girls were here!
Leaving tomorrow early in the a.m. to go Omaha, Nebraska to visit Scott's family. Should be a good time. We are going to some College World Series baseball games - University of Arkansas is in - so I will get to teach my boy how to call the hogs. Wooooooo Pig Sooooey!
Wish you all could come. ) : Basically we are having a small BBQ in my parents backyard for Scott's family (that live in Albquerque) and my family. A few family friends and the few high school friends that actually live in ABQ (KC, Raul, Judd + significant others).
Girlies...this weekend I am attending the wedding of our friends Josh & Monique here in Telluride. It has been raining for nearly a month straight (ugh), but the sun has finally come out this morning - yippee! Justin is officiating the wedding & we will get to spend time with lots of great friends. The festivities start today, so I will be swamped and away from my computer this weekend. Hope you girls have great weekends planned. Can't wait to catch up on Monday & share some of the pretty pictures from this weekend. Cheers!

This place is amazing. It is on the corner of 6th Ave. and 7th St. in Tucson, AZ. I have ridden by on my bike a million time, but never went in. Now that we are seriously thinking of some remodeling Scott and I took a visit to Benjamin on Saturday. We fantasized about turning the building in to lofts and retail space. Our store would be so cute in the front space, with maybe a coffee shop/bakery? We did not get anything, just ideas.
I saw this and immediately thought of you, Becca. Since you have an iPhone (which I am so very jealous about - no AT&T here) this might be a good app for your painting project. Check it out here. So cool.
We made this the other night. So very yummy & so very easy. Give it a whirl. Orecchiette with Sausage and Kale
Serves 4, with leftovers
1 pound orecchiette
3/4 pound smoked chorizo or andouille sausage
Olive oil
About 4 cups kale, mustard greens, or another hearty green, torn into bite-sized shreds
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup toasted pine-nuts
1 cup shredded Parmesan or Pecorino
Heat a large pot of salted water to boiling and cook the pasta according to package directions. When tender, drain and reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water. Return the pasta to the pot and set aside.
Meanwhile, slice the sausage on the diagonal into 1/2 inch slices. Heat a large sauté pan over medium high heat with a drizzle of olive oil. When hot, add the sausage and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until well-browned.
Shove the browned sausage to the side and add the kale. Pour the chicken broth in, cover, and cook for about 8 minutes, or until the kale is wilted and tender.
Mix the kale, sausage, pine-nuts, cheese, and reserved 1/2 cup of pasta water into the cooked pasta. Serve!
I ran across this cute alphabet chest of drawers today. I about died when I saw the price though...over $4000! Yowza. I love letterpress everything - from cards to letterpress blocks. I actually have some letterpress blocks in our condo that I use as decorative items. Anyway, I will not be purchasing this chest, but love the idea of it all the same.
Sorry I have been such a "bad blogger" lately - things have been unbelievably nutty around here. Anyway, in trying to get back into the swing of things (meaning: catching up on all my design blogs), I keep running across various features about Marimekko's new line of wallpapers. Since the first post ever on this little blog (thanks to Becca!) mentioned Marimekko fabric, I thought it only fitting that we should include their latest offering...I am so loving wallpaper right now! Swoon.
In a previous post about buttons I talked about how Erin sewed orange buttons on to a dress she made. I snapped this photo when helping her fold clothes for her trip. The dress is super cute on her - this picture does not do it justice, but you can get an idea of the button pattern (on the front part of the dress). Erin is so crafty!

I went over to my friend Carlita's house for a brunch in honor of our other friend Hector. Check out this BEAUTIFUL spread! I even took the photo before all the food was out on the table. I love the flowers in the wine glass and silver pitcher. Too bad I did not get a picture of Carlita - she was wearing a colorful dress, flowers in her hair and an apron - looked like the perfect hostess.
