Let it snow!

Blizzard - that is the word of the day. We are expected to receive over two (yep - I said two) feet of snow here over the next 24 hours. Here is a video from my favorite Felt Soul Media boys (whom I mentioned here) that will show you a little about our Telluride winters & our ski terrain.

Guess I should be excited that this snow will make for some great skiing this weekend! So, in trying to be upbeat about this onslaught - here is a smattering of snow inspired items. Anything I am missing?

Truth Be Told

I don't get it. The books (I tried - I could barely get through the first one), the movies, or why people think this guy is handsome or interesting. Sorry, I know I am in the minority here, but if anyone wants to try & convince me otherwise they are welcome to do so. Seriously, I don't get it.

J. Crew Sale - FYI

If you are close to a J. Crew store - the cords are on sale! Just got a pair for $19.99!! Already have them on and love them!

Help!

Alright - question of the day. When my grandmother passed away last year I received a lot of items from her house. One such item is a spoon case that used to hang in her kitchen with silver spoons she had collected from her travels over the years. I know it may seem "old fashioned," but this case & the spoons remind me of my grandmother & my hope is to "update" this spoon case to hang in our house. I am not sure how this will all end up looking, but thought I would give it a whirl and see what I think upon project completion.

So - here is the question. I plan on spray painting the case (it is not an antique) in a cream color spray paint. While in Boston, I purchased some "fun" papers at Paper Source (love!) with the idea of using the paper in the back of the case (behind the spoons) to provide an updated look & to replace the gross, faded, green velvet currently existing in the case. Below are two of the options. I am leaning towards the blue/brown/cream paper, which I think will provide a nice backdrop for the silver spoons. Justin like the brighter orange/green/pink paper. Your votes will decide - either one will work. What direction should we head - thanks in advance for your help.

The blue/brown/cream paper - my vote

The orange/green/pink paper - Justin's vote

The cream colored spray paint

The spoon case - currently. Dark wood with faded green
velvet background (spoon holder strips removed for painting).

This weekend....

This weekend should be fun - holiday parties, birthday parties, and hopefully some time to relax. Here is what is on my plate.

Meeting friends in a few at The Cup Cafe inside Hotel Congress.

Having friends over to watch the Nebraska versus Texas game. I took this photo at an actual game. Yes, I am a Texan, but I have to root for Nebraska - Scott's mood for the whole weekend is determined by the game's outcome. Go Huskers!

Taking a pole dancing class? Yes, I am. For a friends birthday surprise party we are all going to an "Into. to Pole" class here. Guess I am expanding my skill set...

Happy weekend girls! Wish I was spending it with you!

Give It!

Here is what I am giving this year.

Tray…it’s melamine, and really cute!. Done for Mom, Sister, MIL and SM. Everyone is getting a different color and font. Personal Favorite above….imagine with the hMg…cute!

Paperweight….Uncle who has everything, but now has a home office…I ordered the round one.

Kiddies…..3 out of 7 of the kids I shop for are art freaks, so I have been loading up on pens, pads, stamps and whatnot wherever I am.... for 2 of the little ones, I got the bowling set above...at
MUJI in the HK airport.

Do you guys draw names or give gifts to everyone in your family?… I don’t prefer one over the other… and I truly struggle with what to get people either way. My new strategy is to only buy things that I would want, too. The tray and paperweight above….I dig them. My biggest pet peeve…..when I open a gift from the co. I work at, It has happened.

If you are related to me and you read this blog..sorry you know what you are getting for Christmas. But if you are related to me, you also know I am not one for surprises and have a special “gift” for knowing what is in every package under the tree…

Happy Shopping!
