Throw Me Something Mister...

Happy Fat Tuesday! Though it has been years since I have properly celebrated Mardi Gras, I must admit that it is this time of year when the Yat in me comes out the strongest. There are so many things to love about Mardi Gras - the parades, the marching bands, the flambeaux, and king cake. Yum. In celebration of all things Mardi Gras..."laissez les bon temps rouler!" And here's to hoping you find the baby in your piece of king cake!

Loving...

Not only is the message sweet, but probably pretty delicious to boot.

Nice Package...

I wrapped a gift for a friend's birthday - attempting this.
Maybe a little goofy, but a fun little project. Instant cheer.

I have come to realize that I need a new camera though.
Stat. Sorry for the grainy image.

Yay!

If you are my friend, you know that I say "Yay" for just about everything.  It is my favorite word.   I have a good friend where our entire conversations are saying "Yay" back and forth to each other.   I got an invite for a social gathering that made me smile.  The title of the event is "Yay" and described like this:

YAY!I: come generate random joy and happiness feelings! We'll be hanging out in the shade by the side of the street, yaying strangers as they pass, with the intention of making them feel good. Maybe they will join us.
YAY!
Bring a chair. If you bring champagne, remember it's not legal on the street so be discreet. Come for the whole time, or just drop by.

This weekend...

All. Weekend. Long. Yep - Telluride Bluegrass. Patchwork skirts & noodle dancing. Check out the lineup here. If you need me, I will be in Town Park - sunburnt, full of beer & dumplings, dusty, and dancing a jig. See you all on the other side.

Tonight though - I will be rocking out to a special Mumford & Sons session at the Sheridan Opera House. Don't know them? You should.

I leave you with this...

Happy Weekend. (so cute)

Run for the Roses

It is that time of year - time for the Kentucky Derby. I love the Derby - the hats, the Mint Juleps, the horse names ("Blind Luck," "Quiet Temper," "Mission Impazible")...the whole "southerness" of it all just gets me so excited. I love the jockeys in their colorful jerseys - stripes, polka dots, you name it. I love the build up to "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports." Yep, two minutes. And then it is over. It is the type of sport that just screams for a party. Will you be watching?

In honor of all things "derby" - a few items to get you ready for the "Run for the Roses."

A boy or a girl?

I am on the fence about if I would find out the gender of a baby (no - I am not pregnant).  :)  Part of me is a planner and would want to know in order to get everything ready and the other part of me would love the anticipation and surprise.  Regardless, I am loving both of these ideas for baby boy or girl - reveal parties.

Read about it on their blog here (thank you Christy for sending me this blog from your super cute friends!)
