And the band played on...

I love marching bands.   Maybe because working at UA is the first school I have been at that has one (our band in high school was literally - a band - a rock and roll band, and in college sports and marching bands were not a big deal - maybe we had a marching band and I did not even know about it...).  A few shots from the recent homecoming parade.

While at UofA I did not like the marching band. Why? Because one of the French Horn players lived down the hall from me in the dorms. She practiced all the time - it was more annoying than I would have ever imagined. It rooted in me a long standing dislike of the UofA marching band. I know, so lame of me.

Growing up, my favorite part of the Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans were the marching bands. Most of the bands were from the "public schools" and M-A-N did they rock. They would dance & rock out while marching down the street. I loved them. Hot-ness.

Hope homecoming was a blast! One of these years I swear I will make it down there again.

I too would have band hate if someone living nearby practiced all the time! So happy dorm living is in our past.

Marching bands at Mardi Gras - ahhh lucky girl!
