My latest love...

Awhile back we stayed at the Ritz in Las Vegas (courtesy of Trader Joe's for the annual party). As always, I was happy to take home the shampoos, lotions, soaps, etc. from the room. I am absolutely in love with this soap. I make a special visit to the guest bathroom just to wash my hands. Yum it is so good....and way out of my price range.

Sock it to me...

So, I have finally settled into the fact that it is officially winter. My flip flops have been gone for months now and I am back in boots full time. A few years ago I finally realized that surviving winter really came down to one thing...socks. And by socks, I mean high quality wool socks. We end up spending a l-o-t of money on socks, but we are so much happier for it. While I would like to get super cute socks like the ones below, what I end up buying are Smartwool socks because they are the best I have found at keeping my tootsies warm in the winter. If you can get away with cute cotton socks - here are a few that I am digging right now. (PS - all captions link, can't figure out why some don't show up though - sorry)

I feel like these socks would have a French accent if they could talk.

Tonight...the tree!!!!

Noel Night

Tonight is "Noel Night" here in Telluride. The first Wednesday of December is dedicated to everything "buy local." Tonight the entire town comes out for great deals at all of our local shops...door prizes, grab bag deals, serious discounts, and cocktails. It is small town living at its finest. We all see one another on the street, talk about great deals we found, and catch up on holiday plans. With only about 4 blocks of shops, you are bound to run into everyone in town at some point. Are you all planning on buying local this holiday season? Any holiday shopping traditions to share. Noel Night in Telluride is a serious holiday tradition around these parts! Happy hunting!

To Tree or not to Tree...

Holiday decorations went up last night. Very fun. See photos below. The question is - should I put up the silver tree again? See photo above from 2007. I borrowed it a few years ago from my friend Melinda - and she offered it again to us this year.

Is it worth the hassle, tree assembly, and time?
